Not exactly a hard match for Spain! :) I remeber watching a pre season friendly between Blackburn and New Zealand a couple of seasons back with Blackburn winning by the same score!

ye but in all fairness Blackburn are a premiership club. Any EPL team would probably beat any country not ranked in the top 20, simply because...

A) clubs are far better than national teams because they can sign whoever they can afford as opposed to whoever is from there. Eg.. Ukraine aren't particularly good because for years the only good player they had was Shevchenko.

B) the teams train with each other all yr round, day in, day out. National teams meet up once or twice a year usually, and the players are used to playing different styles of football at their clubs and don't connect on-field as well as with their clubs.

Well Ukraine are a top 20 ranked team. New Zealand are pathetic, they really are. When I was over there they were all obsessed with Ryan Nelsen, asking them why...everyone said he was there only good player! Saying something I think!

lol hes the only NZ player i'd heard of until the spain match

Ukraine are good now in no small part thanks to Tymoschuk who is one of the best holding midfielders and captains around. But they've come a long way over the yrs.

New Zealand are probably not ranked much higher than Faroe Islands, which makes Wales look like Brazil in comparison lol. But the fact Blackburn beat NZ 5-0 doesnt at all surprise me, and i still think that they would beat a lot of national sides, including but not limited to... Wales, Poland, Austria, Honduras, Canada, Iran, Angola and Singapore.

Well this year they have lost to Italy, Tanzania and Thailand. But they did get a draw against Thailand A, with Ryan Nelsen bagging a brace. What a player!
